Shirley (nee Rhoten) Koewler, age 85, passed away, Thursday, September 26th, 2024. Born on August 7, 1939, in Ripley, Ohio, the daughter of LeRoy and Emma (Germann) Rhoten.

Beloved wife of the late William (Bill) Koewler for 61 years. Devoted mother of Greg, Steve (Julie) and Brian (Karin) Koewler and Pam (Scott) Lovdal. Dear grandmother of Morgan, Mack, Kaitlyn, Connor, Madelyn, Jake, Abby, Elle, Jarred and Mitch. Shirley is survived by two sisters; Patricia (late Bob) Schell, Janice (Rick) Klinker, a brother; Larry (late Shirley) Rhoten and sisters-in-law Connie Rhoten, Barb Rhoten. Preceded in death by brothers Charles Rhoten, Roy Rhoten, George Rhoten and sister Marilyn (nee Rhoten) Martin.

Shirley attended St. Michael Catholic School and graduated from Ripley High School. She moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1957 to work for the Department of Agriculture. In 1961, she married Bill, and they moved to Colerain Township, where they raised their family in St. Ann’s Parish. Later, she went back to work for the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine as the assistant to the Dean of Students. Shirley retired in 2000 to help with her 10 grandchildren.

Memorial visitation at St. Bartholomew Church 9375 Winton Rd. 45231 on Friday, October 18th at 9:30 AM until Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
