Georgetown senior Aiden McGinnis hit eight three-pointers in a contest against Eastern earlier this season to set a new school record, and he set the new school record even higher by burying nine three-pointers in the G-Men’s 82-48 win over the visiting Blanchester Wildcats on Jan. 20.

McGinnis finished the game nine-of-17 on three-point attempts and nine-of-19 overall from the field in an impressive shooting performance.

He finished with 27 points as the G-Men’s leading scorer in the league contest.

Georgetown senior Carson Miles fired for 15 points in the G-Men’s Jan. 20 win while also dishing out nine assists.

Georgetown’s Ryland Hayslip had eight assists and six points.

The G-Men took control from the start, outscoring the Wildcats 25-13 in the first quarter.

They went on to outscore Blanchester 19-11 in the second frame to hold a comfortable 44-24 lead at halftime break.

The G-Men dominated the third quarter to outscore the ‘Cats 20-11 in the period, and capped off the big victory by winning the fourth quarter 18-13.

The G-Men were scheduled to host the Bethel-Tate Tigers for a league game on Jan. 24.

The G-Men were in third in Southern Buckeye Athletic/Academic Conference National Division standings following their Jan. 20 win over Blanchester with a 6-3 league mark.

Williamsburg was second in league standings with a 7-2 record, while Clermont Northeastern was on top as of Jan. 23 with a 7-1 record.
