Charles Owen Richey, 23 of Sardinia Ohio, was born June 26, 1995 in Georgetown, Ohio. He was in a single motorcycle accident on July 1st. He went to the Lord on July 6th, 2018. He was the son of the late Chris Richey and Tina Coday Townes. Charles had a heart of gold and always had a smile on his face. He would say “I don’t have anything, but I have this smile.” He was always there for family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Chris Richey, his paternal grandfather Charles Richey, his grandmother Jean Purdy, his aunt Dorothy Miniard, his maternal grandfather Hugo Coday, his step-grandmother Jackie Townes and his step-grandfather James Townes. He is survived by his mother, Tina Coday Townes and his stepfather Jim Townes of Sardinia; His brothers Chris Richey (Carissa Gorth) and Cody Richey; his sisters Cierra Richey and Jennifer (Johnny) Newell; his nieces Jenna Gorth, Holley Richey and Jocelynn Newell; his nephews Dashawn Smith, Johnny Newell, Elijah Newell and Adam Newell, all of Sardinia; his grandmother Betty Coday of Winchester, Ohio; Maternal aunt Cindy (Mark) Preston of Winchester, maternal uncle Clifford Coday of Winchester; paternal uncles Charles (Nancy) Coday of Winchester, Charles (Karen) Richey of Jacksonville, FL, and Larry (Cindy) Richey, also of Florida; his adopted grandparents John and Ruby Smith of Mt. Orab; his step-uncle Greg (Suzanne) Townes of Dillsboro, IN; his step-aunt Mary (Phil) Thaman of Lake Side Park, Ky; his step-aunt Donna (Rick) Morgan of Bright, IN, his step-uncle Mike Townes of Cincinnati; his best friends Jarrod Haggerty of Sardinia and Ian Stamper of Higginsport, his second mom Angela Stamper of Hamersville; his one true love Liberty Partin of Mt. Orab; many cousins and many friends too numerous to name; his friends at Valley View in Williamsburg; and all his pool shooting buddies at Ruby Lynn’s in Mt. Orab. Charles was loved by so many and has touched the lives of so many. He was an organ donor and will be able to donate life with his heart, both kidneys and liver. His visitation will be at Beam-Fender Funeral Home Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. The funeral will be Friday, July 13 2018 at 11 a.m. Memorials can be made to the family for help with funeral costs.
