The first annual Vern Hawkins Youth Running Camp was a great success with more than 20 campers working hard throughout the week.
The camp wrapped up on Friday, June 22 with legendary Georgetown High School track and cross coach, Vern Hawkins, coming out to speak with campers on the final day.
The camp was filled with guest speakers throughout the week, providing valuable tips to help them improve on their physical fitness and running skills.
Serving as an instructor for the first Hawkins Youth Running Camp throughout the week was Georgetown High School girls cross country coach, Dr. Michael McHenry.
“We were happy with the turnout for the first year of holding the camp,” said McHenry.
