Every Thursday, the members of the Brown County Quick Response Team get together to try and help someone break the addiction cycle.
“They review drug related calls from that week. Then they determine which individuals to talk to and then make those visits,” said Brown County Board of Mental Health and Addiction Services Executive Director Deanna Vietze.
The team includes a member of the Brown County Drug and Major Crimes Task Force, a nurse from the Brown County Health Department and a social worker from Talbert House.
When they arrive at a home, Vietze said the team goes into action.
“They introduce themselves, explain what’s going on and then explain treatment options and services that are available. We consider a successful call as finding someone who wants to engage in treatment,” she said.
