One killed in wreck on U.S. 68

The Georgetown Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal crash which occurred at approximately 2:30 PM on U.S. 68 near milepost 24 in Scott Township, Brown County.
The crash occurred when a northbound blue 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier operated by Jerry Townley, 67, of Milford, Ohio traveled left of center and struck a southbound green 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Franklin D. Connor, 47 of Ripley. Ohio.
Mr. Connor was pronounced deceased on the scene by Brown County Coroner’s office.
Mr. Townley had one passenger, Mary C. Wichmann, age 65, of Milford, who was transported by ground to Mt. Orab Mercy for non-life threatening injuries.
Mr. Townley was transported by AirCare to University of Cincinnati Hospital for his injuries.
Mr. Connor had a passenger, Christina M. Connor, 46, of Ripley. She was flown by Air Evac to University of Cincinnati for her injuries.
Mr. Connor was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Mrs. Connor was wearing a helmet.
Both occupants in the Chevrolet Cavalier were wearing the installed safety belts.
Alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
Assisting on the scene was the Brown County Sheriff’s Department. Georgetown Fire and EMS. Georgetown Police Department. Ohio Department of Transportation and the Brown County Coroner’s Office.
