The Brown County Foundation recently awarded $9500 to local high school students on their way to college.
Most of the awardees were present at the Georgetown Village Council Chambers on June 13 when the scholarships were announced.
Those receiving $500 from the Brown County Foundation were Bethany Grayless of Eastern, Angel Booker of Western Brown, Timothy Huffman of Ripley and Lauren Hrack of Georgetown.
Natalie Wagner of Eastern received $500 from the Joseph C. Glover Fund, Rachel Gibbons of Georgetown received $1000 from the Kathleen Stephan Fund and Adrianna Beavers of Georgetown received $1000 from the E.V. and Carl Stephan Fund.
Another $1000 from the Cahall Mt. Orab High School Fund will be awarded later this month.
The following students from Georgetown received $1000 from the Tony Becraft Memorial Scholarship Fund; Rachel Gibbons, Kelsey Miller, Kelsey Crawford, Shelby Griffith and Stephanie Ayers.
The Brown County Foundation is a tax exempt public charitable foundation established to benefit the citizens of Brown County.
The board members are Ray Becraft, Jim Bridges, Julie McConn Pirman, Brenda Layton, Betty Campbell, Kim Pedigo, Mike Boyd and Jeff Wiederhold.
