The Flash U-15 baseball team won their first tournament of the year in Cincinnati.

The Hamersville Flash Under-15 Team started their 2015 season at Roselawn Park in Cincinnati with a tournament victory.

The park was recently renovated by the Cincinnati Reds and the Urban League with a stadium on the grass field, two turf fields and an indoor facility which often brings in some of the best teams in state and out of state to compete. In the U-15 division the teams were the Force out of Cleveland, USA Athletic Nationals out of Indianapolis, the Southwest Stallions out of Columbus, the Sting Black out of Ohio, the Mustangs on the west side of Cincinnati and the Flash.

The Flash made it through pool play unbeaten at 2-0 with great pitching performances from Kyle Blaha and Aric France. In game one the Flash knocked off the USA Athletic Nationals from Indiana, 4-1 behind Blaha’s stellar pitching performance and a big triple by Stephen Krause.

In game two the Flash erupted for 19 hits while run-ruling the Mustangs to secure the No. 2 seed for Sunday’s elimination round. On Sunday, the Flash won the semifinals over the Sting on a two-hit shut out by Krause and a big triple by Adam Seal in an 8-0 run-rule victory.

In the finals, the Flash faced the Mustangs a second time and this time was a battle. The Flash got a great pitching performance from Evan Baugh and a huge sacrifice fly to score the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning from France and Jacob McCaleb came in to close the door in the sixth and seventh innings.

The Flash won the tournament and earned the tournament rings that each player received for winning the big tournament. The Flash next play in Columbus and Dayton and in South Carolina in the Cal Ripken World Series.
