A Greenfield woman who is currently on probation for theft was recently arrested for possession of drugs, according to a press release from the Hillsboro Police Department as well as records from the Hillsboro Municipal Court.

At approximately 1:25 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, Kassie L. Brigner, 18, was arrested in the Highland Plaza parking lot on North High Street after Hillsboro police “responded to a disturbance.”

According to court records, Brigner was on probation after pleading guilty to theft, a first degree misdemeanor, on Jan. 31.

As a part of that probation, a 60-day jail sentence was suspended, and Brigner was placed on reporting probation until her 40 hours of community service were completed.

Brigner also had to pay restitution, was prohibited from contact with Dollar General, and had to obey all laws.

Further, if she tested positive for drugs, she would be held in custody.

When officers arrived at the Highland Plaza, they discovered that Brigner was in possession of drugs.

The press release states that Brigner was then charged with possession of drugs, a first-degree misdemeanor.

Brigner was later seen in Hillsboro Municipal Court that same Friday morning. According to court records, she was arraigned for both drug abuse, a first-degree misdemeanor, as well as probation violation.

A pretrial hearing has been set for March 28.

Court records also state that Brigner was given a curfew of 8 p.m. until 6 a.m., and that she is to enroll in substance abuse counseling.

Brigner was being held on a $5,000 bond, and, according to Hillsboro Municipal Court records, she posted bond.

Also arrested for drug abuse was Corie Jade Williams on Monday afternoon, according to Highland County Justice Center records.

Williams, 26, of Blanchester, was charged with possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

She was arrested on Homestead Avenue on a warrant out of the Lynchburg Police Department, according to Sheriff Richard Warner.

She is set to be arraigned Wednesday morning in Hillsboro Municipal Court and is currently being held on $2,500 bond.
