Local official mourned

The local sports community was shocked and saddened last week by the passing of Danny Rymer of West Union, a very familiar face on the fields and courts as a soccer and basketball official. Rymer died suddenly on July 9 at the age of 47, leaving a large void in the local officiating ranks.

HAMERSVILLE - The Brown County Health and Wellness Foundation will host the fall golf outing on Friday, Sept. 12, at Friendly Meadows Golf Course in Hamersville.The outing consist of a four person scramble or sign up as an individual and be paired with a group at the event. As the World Cup ends, soccer is in the hearts of America

With the World Cup closing, I felt like I should be expected to write a piece on soccer. Soccer may not be my favorite sport, but I understand the importance to the rest of the world. Americans, however, have struggled to comprehend the game and go as far to say soccer creates no real winners or successes.
