Absolutely no expense has been spared to bring the world-renowned Professor Faris to the U.S. Grant Celebration in historic Georgetown this year.
Faris will astonish and baffle audiences throughout the day on Saturday, April 22nd at the U.S. Grant Homestead.
Professor Faris will perform in the main living history tent. With no elaborate apparatus, no hidden assistants, and in full view of the assembled throng, scarves will appear and disappear, coins will invisibly travel from hand to hand, playing cards will exhibit the most extraordinary behavior, and all manner of other breath-taking and mind boggling events will occur before your very eyes.
Professor Steve Faris’ performances have astounded the public on the Travel Channel, the A&E network and on many PBS stations.
He has appeared with Martin Mull, Steve Martin, Earl Scruggs, Ricky Nelson, the Ramones, and in many other venues. He is also an avid collector of vintage magician’s memorabilia and apparatus and often lectures on the history of magic for schools and historical organizations.
The U.S. Grant Celebration begins at 7:30 pm, Thursday, April 20 at the Georgetown Gaslight Theater. Dr. Curt Fields will present a one man performance of U.S. Grant’s life during the Brown County Historical Society meeting. The public is welcome, and the admission is $5.00.
There will be a reception on Friday, April 21st at 7:30 at the Georgetown Methodist Church fellowship hall for Lincoln’s Generals, a group of re-enactors portraying famous northern generals. The reception is free to the public.
The action continues on Saturday, April 22nd with a full day of events beginning at 9:00am with Ned Lodwick’s history walk.
