Robert (Bob) E. McKinney, age 86 of Georgetown, Ohio died Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Clermont Mercy Hospital in Batavia, Ohio. Mr. McKinney retired from the Beckjord Power Plant in New Richmond, Ohio after thirty-five years of service. He served as a member of the Military Police in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was a former Georgetown volunteer fireman and special auxiliary police officer. Bob was a member of the Georgetown Church of Christ, the Georgetown Masonic Lodge F&AM #72 and Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati. He was born July 4, 1930 in Brown County, Ohio the son of the late Alex and Virginia (Wienel) McKinney. He was also preceded in death by one brother – William McKinney in 1971 and one grandson – Blake Roush in 2016.
Mr. McKinney is survived by his wife of sixty-one years – Phyllis (Snider) McKinney, whom he married July 23, 1955; two daughters – Susan Loudon and husband Keith of Georgetown, Ohio and Gale Roush and husband Steve of Georgetown, Ohio; one son – Doug McKinney and wife Pam of Georgetown, Ohio; five grandchildren – James (Rema) Loudon, Travis (Tammy) Loudon, Hannah (Jacob) Gray, Blaine (Warren) McKinney and Jacob McKinney; two great grandchildren – Jayla and Colt Gray; one brother – Charlie McKinney of Georgetown, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
Masonic, Scottish Rite and funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Wednesday. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery with veteran services by the Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180.
