Glenn Otis “Butch” Stroop Jr. age 66 of Hillsboro died Saturday, August 13, 2016 as a result of a car/motorcycle accident. He was born June 29, 1950 in Hillsboro, Ohio the son of Glenn and Juanita Puckett Stroop. Mr. Stroop had retired with forty years of service with AT & T and SBC Telephone Companies. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the VFW Post 9094 and the Combat Veteran Motorcycle Association (CVMA). He is survived by his wife, Diane Stroop, his mother, Juanita (Vincent Strain) Fiscus of Hillsboro, four children, Mark Burns of Hillsboro, Karen Pinkerton of Lynchburg, Becky Stroop of Leesburg, Machael Zeigler of Springfield, eight grandchildren, Cody Burns, Alex and Emily Pinkerton, Renea and Erin Collett, Caitlyn, Cody and Cameron White, one sister, Sue (Nick) Thompson of Hillsboro and one brother, Bob (Patsy) Stroop of Ripley.  He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Otis Stroop. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 18th at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Leo Kuhn will officiate. Burial, with military honors presented by the Highland County Honor Guard, will follow in the Hamer Township Cemetery.
