WB Board meeting date changed

The regular meeting of the Western Brown Board of Education has been changed to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8 at the district office.

Alzheimer’s/Dementia Support Group to meet

The Alzheimer’s/Dementia Family and Caregiver Support Group meet the second Monday of each month. The next meeting will be from1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, at Adams County Regional Medical Center. The center is located 230 Medical Center Drive in Seaman. the meeting will take place in the second floor conference room.

Brown County Beekeepers to meet

The Brown County Beekeepers will meet 7 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Western Brown High School.

The guest speaker will be Jim Coss. He will talk about “Increasing your hives inexpensively.”

BC Humane Society to meet

The Brown County Humane Society monthly membership meeting is 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb 9. This meeting will be held at the ABCAP Building, located 407 W. Plum Street in Georgetown. All members and individuals who would like to help are encouraged to attend.

Men of St. Joseph plan fish frys

The Men of St. Joseph of St. Mary Church, in Bethel, will be sponsoring a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Friday from Feb. 12 until March 18. They are held at the church, located on state Route 125, just east of Bethel.

Menu items include fish (baked or fried), shrimp, grilled cheese, macaroni and cheese, French fries, refreshments, homemade pies and cakes and other desserts.

GUMC Valentine Dinner planned

There will be a Valentine Dinner 5-7 pm. Saturday, Feb. 13 at the Georgetown United Methodist Church. The dinner will continue until the food is gone. The church is located 217 S. Main, in Georgetown, at the corner of Main Street and state Route 125. All who attend are asked to use the state Route 125 entrance to the fellowship hall.

The menu is baked spaghetti, breadstick, salad, ice cream sundae, cookie and beverage. All donations go to the building fund to help renovate this historic building.

Music and treats are also planned for the event.

Decatur dinner and dance planned

Celebrate Valentine’s Day on Saturday, Feb. 13, at the Decatur Community Center, located on state Route 125.

The evening includes a social hour beginning 5 p.m. with a hospitality table. A catered sit down dinner will be served 6 p.m. including dessert and choice of beef or chicken.

Door prizes, split the pot and a silent auction are also scheduled during the dinner portion of the evening.

Jay Fetters with Sounds Unlimited will DJ the Decatur Valentine Dance from 8 to 11 p.m.

Admission to the dinner and dance is $25 per person and reservations must be made by Feb. 10. To attend the dance only admission is $10 per person and no reservation is required.

Introduction to Beekeeping

The Brown County Beekeepers will be offering a special meeting 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Western Brown High School.

“Introduction to Beekeeping” is specific to help people learn and get started.

BCPL meeting to be held

The Personnel Committee of the Board of Trustees of the Brown County Public Library will meeting 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, immediately preceding the regular monthly meeting of the board in the meeting room of the Mt. Orab Library, located 613 South High Street, in Mt. Orab.

The purpose of the meeting is to review personnel policy manual, and to conduct any other business that may come before the committee at that time.

BCBDD to meet

The Brown County Board of Developmental Disabilities will hold its next regular scheduled board meeting 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17 at the Brown County Board of DD Center, located 325 West State Street, Building A, Suite 2, in Georgetown.

Cabin Fever Quarter Craze and dinner will be hosted by the Ripley Women’s Club

Ripley Women’s Club will host Cabin Fever Quarter Craze and dinner. The event will take place Friday, Feb. 26. Doors open 6 p.m., festivities begin 6:30 p.m. and will take place at Ripley Life Squad.

Come out and support the women and community of Ripley. The dinner menu will include pork BBQ, slaw, chips, dessert and drink for $5.
