Property taxes due Feb. 3

The first half Brown County real estate tax statements have been mailed. Those who have not received a tax statement should contact the Brown County Treasurer’s office at 937-378-6705, 937-378-6177 or toll-free 1-800-229-6177.

As in the past, payments may be mailed on or before Feb. 3 (US postmark accepted), or stop in the office of the treasurer, located at 800 Mt. Orab Pike, Suite 171, in Georgetown. In addition, payment may be made at regional locations during regular banking hours until Feb. 3.

These include Citizens Deposit Bank, Ripley; First Safety Bank, Georgetown; Merchants National Bank, Mt. Orab, Georgetown and Higginsport; Peoples (FNA National Bank and Trust), Georgetown, Mt. Orab and Sardinia, NCB, Fayetteville and First State Bank, Georgetown, Mt. Orab and Ripley.

Those who choose to pay at one of the regional locations must present the entire current real estate tax bill, and must pay the correct amount due.

Those who mail a payment to the office and wish a receipt must return the entire bill with a stamped, self-addressed envelope.
