The Leadership Adams Board of Trustees announces the creation of a leadership program designed for high school students in Adams County. The program is targeting high school juniors who will be the graduating class of 2016, and will include students from North Adams, Peebles, West Union, Manchester, Adams County Christian, and the Ohio Valley Career and Technical Center. Two students will be selected by each of the schools to participate in the program.

The Leadership Adams Youth Academy is a three day program which will help the student participants develop leadership skills through John Maxwell’s YouthMax Program. In addition, they will connect with key influencers, explore career opportunities, and experience opportunities for service, all within Adams County.

Mike Parks, Lead Facilitator for the program, said, “I am honored to be facilitating the inaugural Leadership Adams Youth Academy. As a lifelong resident of Adams County I am excited to give back to the Youth of our great county equipping them with leadership tools for their future success and showing them what Adams County has to offer hoping they choose to come back after college to make Adams County an even better place.”

Students who have been selected for the inaugural Youth Academy 2015 Program are McKayla Smith and Ricky DeAtley, Manchester High School; Taylor Wylie and Aaron Pertuset, North Adams High School; Kasey Hawkins and Karlie Harper, Ohio Valley Career and Technical Center; Josey Scott and Tyler Ryan, Peebles High School; and Daisee Young and Jacob Miley, West Union High School.
